Presentacion de Preparacion Universitaria - College Readiness Presentation
La presentacion de Preparacion Universitaria para estudiantes de ESL de ayer fue una sesion integral disenada para preparar a estos estudiantes para el exito en la educacion superior. La sesion, facilitada en colaboracion con el departamento de Educacion para Adultos, abordo aspectos cruciales de la integracion academica y social en el entorno universitario. Se compartieron conocimientos valiosos para guiar a los estudiantes de ESL en la navegacion de las complejidades de la vida universitaria, haciendo hincapie en la importancia de una transicion sin problemas. La presentacion tuvo como objetivo empoderar a los estudiantes proporcionando informacion esencial y fomentando un ambiente de apoyo. Con discusiones estimulantes y un enfoque en la colaboracion, el evento tuvo como objetivo equipar a los estudiantes de ESL para trayectorias academicas dinamicas y gratificantes. Yesterday's College Readiness Presentation for ESL students was a comprehensive session geared towards preparing these students for success in higher education. The session, facilitated collaboratively with the Adult Education department, delved into crucial aspects of academic and social integration into the college environment. Spring 2024 Welcome and Orientation
The SENMC Spring 2024 Orientation at Southeast New Mexico College welcomed students with insights into campus resources and a guided tour. Staff members introduced the academic community, and students explored facilities, and learned about support services. The tour, led by student workers, familiarized students with key locations. The day ended with a social gathering and fostering connections.

FSA ID Workshop
During the FSA ID Workshop, students learned about the significance of the FSA ID in the federal student aid process. They received step-by-step guidance on creating and verifying their FSA ID, along with tips for maintaining security. Common issues were addressed, and students had the opportunity to ask questions for clarification. Overall, the workshop aimed to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently navigate the FSA ID system during the financial aid process.

SENMC Peer Mentoring Program Completes First Semester
As part of First Year Experience (FYE), the SENMC Peer Mentors provide assistance and mentorship to students wanting help navigating student life. The program was developed in fall of 2022, under the leadership of Raymond Dominguez. The Fall 2023 semester, the Peer Mentoring program's first semester with cohorts, was a great success with more than 100 students participating. The mentoring program is open to all students at SENMC and is a great way to gain knowledge of campus resources and increase academic success. In addition to mentoring responsibilities, the Peer Mentors assist with HSI Grant Services events and workshops throughout the semesters.

This empowering session helped students to explored the inner workings of the mind and provided practical tools and strategies for taking control of one's thoughts and emotions. Through mindfulness techniques, positive affirmations, and expert guidance, attendees learned how to overcome self-doubt, silence their inner critics, and cultivate a strong sense of self-worth.
